We must think more often and more sensibly about our own mortality, preparing and shaping our expectation and hope by Scripture and not by the world, our feelings, or the culture.
We will undoubtedly experience genuine grief if we truly understand the problem of sin and the consequences of rejecting Christ, yet it should also motivate us to continue to urgently and regularly share the gospel.
We must remember that prayer is not an effort to overcome God’s unwillingness, but rather we pray persistently in faith to a good and generous God in hopes of advancing his good plans.

God would have us exercise ambitious faith in boldly asking him for Christ?s work to thrive beyond the confines of our local geography and limited lifespan.
We must tenaciously trust in the goodness of God even when he makes us wait for his perfect timing or introduces a divinely designed detour.
There is real hope of a “new start” available to us because of the grace and forgiveness found in trusting Jesus Christ.
God will infuse his people with strength and stamina as we learn to adopt his perspective and confidently trust in God’s ability to work out his big plan for our lives.
The life, death and resurrection of Chrisst has provided us with God’s historical and verifiable assurances regarding his promises about our future home.
Christ has established his right to rule over everything and everyone, and one day he will. Until then we should trust him, do right & not whine.
Even when we think our plans have been disrupted, it is God’s timing that we need to keep in mind as the most important schedule.
We must be intentional in guarding our confidence in what God has revealed in his word, screening our input and avoiding the incessant flow of error that comes from the world’s opinion.
Our future resurrection (guaranteed by Christ’s) should motivate us with a confident, positive and reverent attitude toward the Victor over death!
Because of God’s guaranteed grace toward his children we can confidently anticipate that we’ll arrive safely at our future home.
See your problems in light of God’s generous grace, allowing that perspective to make you truly optimistic as you seek to change them.
Jesus’ blood stands between us and what we deserve. Praise God for providing what we needed but couldn’t pay. There is no worksheet for this sermon.
