The problem, as with most of our modern culture’s take on “salvation”, is that there is little clarity about what these folks are acquiring “salvation from”. People demand proof that Jesus deserves their submission and allegiance, but God has provided more than ample evidence and it is our honor and duty to relay it to them.
Prayer must be a foundational practice when we consider our required participation in the great commission, knowing that successful evangelism is the Holy’s Spirit’s work from beginning to end.
Our efforts to reach people with the gospel should be urgent because the Christ who commanded us to do so has preeminent authority and has promised to imminently return which will end all of our evangelistic opportunities.
We must purpose play a significant part in God’s “new covenant” plan to be empowered by his Spirit and take the message of forgiveness and Christ’s dominion to everyone around us.
God expects us to be fully confident in Christ and his ongoing work through us in this world, which we should be assured will culminate in his return and the establishment of his kingdom.
As God’s children we must never allow ourselves to become complacent about the plight of the lost, the hope of the gospel, or the urgency of our mission to reach people for Christ.
God expects us to master the gospel message and boldly risk the conflict that comes from presenting it and defending it as we continually seek to make new disciples.
Every Christian at Compass should utilize our Easter services as an evangelistic opportunity to bring people to hear about Christ and to personally share the gospel.
Because it is God’s plan to use our evangelism to expand his kingdom, we must be prepared for growth & willingly sacrifice any personal interests that stand in the way.
While we ?gather to worship and scatter to evangelize,? inviting non-Christians to church, specially to special services, is a legitimate means of biblical evangelism.
We must enthusiastically accept our divinely assigned privilege and responsibility of representing Christ in our everyday world.
Now is the opportune time to rekindle our concern and redouble our efforts to see people come to know the hope of Christ and watch God expand his church!
God has called us to reach out to those around us, doing what we can to bring others under the lordship of Jesus Christ.
We must care for (and minister to) more and more of the people God already cares so much about.
