We should be careful not to misunderstand the role of the ceremonial signs (both in the Old and New Covenants) which God has chosen to represent his justifying work.
While the OT Ceremonial Laws have been set aside for the reality they pointed to, Christ did leave us with two continuing ceremonies or symbols that we must understand and rightly practice until he returns!
